Ken Anoe

Ken Anoe began playing when he was 16 throughout the Midwest. He enlisted in the United States Air Force as a bandsman.  He was promoted to the Airmen Of Note in Washington D.C. in 1976. After 3 yrs. with the "Note," he transferred into the prestigious Air Force Protocol Combo as Presidential support.  Ken retired from the Air Force after 23 yrs. and worked for The Delta Queen Steamboat Company playing up and down the Mississippi, and learning the tunes in the Great American Song Book.  He returned to Portland in 2005. Ken currently works as a freelance musician, and teaches bass and jazz studies at George Fox U in Newberg.

After Six combines the musical talents of some of the finest jazz musicians in the Northwest. After Six as been entertaining the region with the music of Ellington, Gershwin, Arlen, Mercer, Rogers, Hefti and many other jazz and blues luminaries for 25 years. Our band members exhibit extraordinary improvisational musicianship at both public and private venues.
